Confidentiality

All our services are strictly confidential for all our patients, no matter the age or circumstance. The information our patients give us is not shared with anyone outside our sexual health service without the consent of our patients unless it is necessary to protect someone from serious harm. Our higher standards of confidentiality are discussed with patients when they first attend our service.

Here to listen, not to tell

Your visit is private. We keep your information safe and only share it when needed for your care.

  • We will not tell your GP or anyone else without your consent, unless we must to keep you or someone else safe, or if the law requires it. We will always try to talk to you first.
  • Only the staff caring for you can see your records.
  • Tests are sent to the lab with a clinic number, not your name.

If you want to know more about how we use your information, ask a member of staff.
